Extension of existing house BB in Puerto de Andratx

Continuity of style and aesthetic integrity in a large extension.
INITIAL SITUATION
Dimensions of the house: 500m2 The house is located in the upper part of La Mola, in a relatively flat area, in Puerto de Andratx. A small peninsula about 100m high surrounded by cliffs over the sea with spectacular views towards the port of Andratx and the rugged virgin coast to the north, towards the island of La Dragonera. It is an urban area where large plots and large detached single-family homes predominate.
THE CHALLENGE
This is an ambitious expansion project for a house built in the 80s to increase its surface area from 150m2 to 500m2. The extension is due to the owner's need to increase the number of rooms for children and grandchildren with the requirement that all these rooms have complete independence from the main house. The client conveyed to us his express desire to maintain the original aesthetics of the eighties and the unitary identity of the exterior of the complex.
THE RESULT
We adjust to the client's criteria, we achieve the aesthetic integrity of the house while maintaining the general aesthetic criteria already existing in the main construction, limiting ourselves to evolving small details in the extension. Our design of the new body successfully reconfigures the outdoor areas creating sheltered spaces while focusing on the views and the sun. Our intervention in the interiors, without the constraints of the exteriors, allows us a more contemporary design where good taste and the quality of the materials chosen with the client stand out.
